My Birthday Wish for my Son

My dear son,

I can’t believe how quickly time has flown by and you’re now 8!  I remember the day I found out i was pregnant and I was terrified of what the future would bring.  I was overwhelmed and utterly exhausted when I finally pushed you out after 8 hours of pain and agony during labor. And I remember when you didn’t cry after you made your appearance in that hospital room, I started to cry. And then I started to worry. And since then, I’ve done nothing but worry and imagine I’ll be continuing to do so until my very  last breath.

My wish for you is simple….

I wish for you to always be happy but still know  a sliver of pain so that you can truly appreciate the joys of life and never take things for granted.

I wish for you eternal health but feel those aches so that you take care of your body and hopefully never abuse your body with drugs or alcohol.

I wish you for you to have tremendous wealth but know what it means to work hard for every penny and not live paycheck to paycheck.

I wish for you everlasting and unconditional love but experience some heartache to know that you never take people for granted or lead them on.

I wish for you all the abundance this world has to offer but never forget to give to those that are less fortunate than you.

I wish for all your wishes to come true. May God always continue to bless you and may He grant me the patience & courage to raise you right.
